ABOUT US

History of Poittemill

1933
POITTEMILL is founded by Mr. F. POITTE (head office in Neuilly-sur-Seine). At its origin, the Poitte mills company designs, manufactures, and markets industrial equipment for grinding mineral materials. The English translation of the term “mill” is “POITTEMILL”.
1933 – 1965

The company specializes in the design of pendulum systems used mainly for crushing:

• coal (used in thermal power stations).
• phosphates (used in the manufacture of fertilisers).
• minerals (limestone, bentonites, carbonates).
Installations that were set up all over the world during this period are still in operation today. It was also during this period, in 1965, that Jean-Marc MARECHAL, a chemical engineer, joined the company as a start-up engineer.

1966
Change of shareholder and significant development of industrial crushing units following the Second World War in France and for export to various countries in Africa, Asia and Europe. It was from this year onwards that the export strategy was put in place and remains very active to this day (approximately 80% of turnover from exports).
1980
POITTEMILL designs the PULSE PRESSURE CYLINDER MILL (otherwise known as the PRESSURE ROLLER) which allows a 50% energy saving compared to the classic ball mill. The mill features a patented pressure pulsation process via a hydraulic system that eliminates any vibration problems leading to and eliminates the need for pre-grinding. In parallel, POITTEMILL is developing a high-performance selector for use with the press rolls allowing a clean cut at 50μm with finished product throughputs up to 100 T/H. This selector is equipped with a lift air inlet to keep the particles in front of the classifying head for a longer time, thus increasing the efficiency.
1983
Takeover of the POITTEMILL company by Jean-Marc MARECHAL.

1993

POITTEMILL moves to its new premises in Bethune equipped with a workshop and test station, enabling all the products ground with the range’s installations to be tested.
1994
Takeover of the company FORPLEX INDUSTRIE based in Nantes. The ATTRIMILL range was developed (with a horizontal variant): grinding by attrition, mainly used for plastic and fibrous products.

History of Poittemill-Forplex

1996

The FNG (Forplex New Generation) range of grinding equipment is launched.

The use of 316L steel and welded construction meets the current FDA / GMP / CE standards. As a result, applications in the pharmaceutical and food industries are multiplied. A new air blowing system on the bearing at the shaft is installed to avoid product retention inside the mill.

1997 – 1998

The PAS range was extended following a series of trials with ROQUETTE who were experiencing problems with clogging and breakage of grinding tools on their installations.

1998

Higher capacity models are added to the FNG range (FNG 5, 6 and 7). The BFV shredder is launched with an air conveying system.

The BFG model is designed to handle heat sensitive and explosive products with a strength of up to 10 bars.

2000

The BLF – AIR JET MILL joins the range for milling hard and abrasive products, high added value products such as pharmaceuticals or cosmetics and allowing to mill 3 T/H of baryte for pharmaceutical use (99% < 16μm D50: 3μm).

2010

The LABLINE (EHX) range of crushers is equipped with an innovative system that facilitates disassembly for cleaning, making FORPLEX a complete range of crushers for laboratory installations.

2012

The company’s visibility has been improved following its appearance in the TF1 report on SMEs that succeed in exporting, on 10 November 2012.

2014 – 2015

Development of the FK 3.3 (Forplex knife mill) for grinding fibrous agro-pharmaceutical products. Easier to clean than the hammer mill.

November 2014

Opening of the POITTEMILL THAILAND subsidiary in Bangkok. Poittemill has also been recognised by representatives of the Hauts-de-France region: the company was awarded the Grand Export prize by the CCI International Nord Pas de Calais, during the LeadExport Trophies 2014.

May 2015

Opening of the POITTEMILL RUSSIA subsidiary in Moscow.

March 2017

POITTEMILL and FORPLEX were once again rewarded for their export performance at the Trophées de l’Industrie 2017. The company was even shortlisted for the Grand Prix de l’Industrie but unfortunately did not win. The company is now known and recognised by all the players in the Hauts-de-France region for its know-how and expertise in industrial grinding.

2017

Development and opening of an office in Malaysia with an International Export Volunteer on site, to replace the POITTEMILL THAILAND office, Malaysia being more favourable to local development.

Development and opening of a joint venture in India, to set up a design office on the Asian continent. This office opening will allow the development of machines with a high level of technicality at a lower cost to compete with the brands established in China or in India, while keeping the POITTEMILL and FORPLEX expertise.
