Universal laboratory mill FNG

Impact mill with the possibility of adapting different grinding tools (hammers, paddles, spindles) to process different products with different granulometries in the same grinding body.

The main body is made of 316L single-piece machined stainless steel, and is designed for small-scale laboratory grinding plants. The FNG-00 has been designed for table-top installation. The motor and transmission are totally enclosed. Smaller and more compact, it nevertheless has the same features as a Forplex New Generation mill: variable speed, easy plate change, etc.

Operating principle

The material is fed into the centre of the crusher.

Crushing is achieved by impact and projection between the moving parts of the high-speed rotating rotor and the stationary parts.

The fineness of the product to be ground is determined by:

  • The grinding equipment
  • The perforation and type of screen ring
  • The feed rate
  • The air flow rate
  • The rotational speed (max. 150 m/s)

Changing any of these parameters will alter the particle size distribution of the finished product.

Safety
  • Shaft-in-sleeve design
  • Air/nitrogen purging of the front bearing to eliminate any risk of contamination when processing multiple products
  • Door opening safety system
Options
  • Available in 304L or 316L stainless steel (other versions available on request)

  • Explosion-proof version (10 bar absolute)

  • Mirror-polished, Ra ≤ 0.2 max. for parts in contact with the product

  • Thermocouple well in the housing for temperature probe

  • Interchangeable internal shielding

  • Shaft line locking for frequent dismantling of grinding components

  • Construction compliant with pharmaceutical GMP criteria

  • Linear rotation speed: max. 150 m/s

General construction
  • Welded steel construction
  • Door fitted with multi-point hinges ensuring optimal sealing

Pin or hammer grinding tools ?

We’re here to help you choose.

Pin tool
  • Fine and ultra-fine grinding
  • Dry, non-clogging, brittle materials that are easy to grind.
  • Dispersion of very fine agglomerated particles.
  • Intensive mixing of different components through simultaneous grinding.
  • This unit does not use a sieve ring, thereby avoiding the risk of clogging.
  • The fineness of the grind is primarily determined by the rotational speed.
Hammer tool
  • Fine, semi-fine, coarse and preliminary grinding.
  • Friable to semi-hard, crystalline, brittle, oily and fibrous materials.
  • Without a screen ring, the mill is used as a primary mill (granulator/crusher).
  • The particle size of the product is controlled by the rotor speed, the perforations and the design of the screen ring.

The FNG grinder is also available as a complete unit with a digital display and a recipe system for your trials.

Research and development laboratories in the pharmaceutical, cosmetics and food industries require small-scale grinding equipment to carry out grindability tests on their products, with a view to scaling up production.

Taking into account the key requirements of R&D departments and laboratories, FORPLEX has completely redesigned its FNG00 laboratory equipment to offer a system that meets standards for safety, ergonomics, certification and contamination control.

Fully washable with water (IP65 rating, watertight interior), easily dismantled without tools, and featuring simplified operation, the FNG00 grinding station is suitable for all types of users.
